St. Mary’s Residents,

In preparation for the 2017-2018 snow season, the Board and Staff of St. Mary's Glacier Metropolitan District wish to provide the following information.

Plowing operations will be active between the hours of 5:00 a.m., and 8:00 p.m. after a minimum of 4 inches of snow has fallen.

PLEASE remove any vehicles and/or other items from roadways to facilitate the most efficient operations possible.  The easier you make it for the plows, the faster they will be able to address all roads.

Living at St. Mary’s requires a certain awareness and responsibility on the part of residents.  The appropriate types of vehicles must be utilized (front wheel, 4-wheel, or all-wheel drive), and tire type and condition must be adequate in order to successfully navigate the winter season.  Plowing staff will always do their best, but cannot guarantee that all vehicles will be able to travel at all times.

Effort will be made to minimize the creation of berms at the end of driveways, but it is not possible to eliminate them altogether.  This is another reality of life at 10,500 feet elevation.

CONTACT INFORMATION:

To reach plowing operations with non-emergency information, please email metro-board@stmarysglacier.com.  Emails are monitored between the hours of 9-5 M-F, and at intervals throughout the weekend.

For urgent matters, please call Tom Meyers, at 720-934-8384, or Jerrod Peterson, at 704-677-5391.

We appreciate your help as we pull together for an enjoyable winter on the mountain.

Culverts, Ditches and Roads

As some of you noticed, this year we began cutting ditches, scraping and adding base to some of the roads. This process is not quick, and can leave the roads rocky but the end result will be smoother and safer roads.

Here are some things to be aware of:

  • For those of you with culverts in front of your house, keeping them clean is your responsibility. You may be frustrated when you clean out your culverts only to have them fill up again with the next rain or not having a a ditch for the water to run through. We know how you feel. Over the past few years, we have helped to clean culverts along some of our roads only to have them fill up again. We ask that you still remain diligent in your efforts as they are much appreciated.
  • Please try to keep your cars, trucks, campers, boats, trailers, etc., off of the roads. This is especially important when it snows as poor visibility and obstacles in the road are not a good combination.
  • We are in need of volunteer electrical and building/grounds maintenance work. Anyone willing to contribute to the improvement of the community is encouraged to attend the Metro District meetings.
